OKLAHOMA, OKC – “NICK”

Nick is a handsome one year old Anatolian Shepherd mix with such a sweet face.  His foster mom says he is very affectionate and the happiest dog she has ever seen.  He is still a bouncy, playful puppy just going into adolescence and he enjoys the company of his canine foster siblings.  Rumor has it he has gotten over his dislike of cats and can now be caught snuggling with his feline foster sibling.   He takes his ASD guardian duty very seriously and stares at Mom while she sleeps.  Asked about life with Nick she said, “I love every second of my time with him.”

Nick is a resilient little guy!  He came into rescue Aug 2019 from an Oklahoma shelter, a skinny boy with a nasty respiratory infection and an injured leg.  His wonderful foster mom picked him up at the shelter and into her heart and home.  NASRN provided great medical care and his foster provided good nutrition, and much appreciated TLC.  Almost four months later, Nick’s respiratory infection was finally cleared up and he was cleared for surgery.

In December Nick went in for surgery.  The vet reevaluated Nick’s leg, pain level from the injury and while under anesthesia for neuter, new xrays were performed.  This day turned out miraculously!  The vet said he no longer recommended that Nick’s leg be amputated!!   With time, good nutrition, monitored exercise, and invaluable amounts of love and TLC from his foster mom, Nick’s leg had healed.  Not a bad outcome for a Friday the 13th.

If you would love to offer Nick his long awaited forever home, please email becca@nasrn.com for more information.  Transport may be available depending on where you live.
