Anatolian Shepherd (medium coat) : : Male : : Young : : Large
Rocky is a long legged 2 ½ year old who has endured a hurricane and loss of family and home. This has left him very fearful and suspicious of anything or anyone new as well as being easily startled by loud noises. He is very very slow to trust but for an ASD surprisingly passive.
He is not food motivated and does not mind well in that he needs to “ think it over and be sure he is safe”. He does show affection mostly by leaning against you once he develops trust w you. A home w another dog is preferred as Rocky will “ follow the leader” , gets along well w other dogs and would probably feel more comfortable w a house mate.
Rocky is heartworm positive and is being treated the slow kill method. He has shown no symptoms. He is calm . He likes to go in and out of the house during the day. He is not a demanding dog just likes time to look things over and proceed carefully.
Rocky will be slow in adjusting to new people and a new home so interested adopters will need a great deal of patience and understanding. His foster mom will give all the help she can in helping all adjust toward being a happy forever family.
