HOUSTON, TEXAS: FOSTER, ADOPTION or FOSTER-TO-ADOPT

Cowboy is looking for a place to hang his hat and call home. He is in a very temporary foster setting and needs to find a foster or forever family soon. He is friendly, inquisitive and reportedly good with other dogs, cats and kids. Typical puppy behavior such as chewing is to be expected, but he is easily and happily redirected to appropriate chew toys. He is very eager to please and shows this with lots of kisses and snuggles!

Cowboy was first abandoned in a small town in rural Texas near a local store with another puppy. He was then taken in by a busy family with kids but they didn't have a good fence to contain Cowboy and his sidekick and the family left them alone outside to take care of themselves near a busy farm-to-market road. Left to their own resources for 8-10 hours a day, the pups were picked up by county animal control several times so the family began chaining them in the yard.

Now both he and his friend are safely in rescue. Cowboy may be safe, but his current foster setting is very temporary, and he really misses having his own family. He wants to know if you can give him that today!

If you might be interested in fostering or adopting Cowboy, please email us at  becca@nasrn.com .

TRANSPORT OPTIONS :  Cowboy is eligible for transport to points along the east coast with a rescue transporter ($185). Also, depending on where you live, we can often help with transport within approximately 1,000 miles via volunteer drivers. There is no charge for this transport but the foster/adopter usually drives the last leg/increment of the trip.

We currently do not have transport options from TX to the NW/PNW. Adopting parties living in these areas would be responsible for arranging for their own transport.
