Meet Dutch! He is a very handsome and lovable boy who is looking for his forever home! 

Dutch is an approximately 3 year old neutered, heartworm negative, male Anatolian Shepherd Dog  Australian Shepherd mix. This beautiful boy was originally picked up as a stray when NASRN stepped in to pull him from the shelter and he has shown nothing but gratitude with kisses since.

Dutch is smaller than a purebred Anatolian and is closer to the size of an Australian Shepherd.  His last weigh in was around 60 lbs. He may be smaller but this gentle "giant" has plenty of love to give all the same! He can be a bit timid at first, as he is still working on building confidence, but warms up very quickly.

Dutch is housebroken, crate trained, knows basic commands, is good with cats and plays well with other dogs! However, he has no livestock experience .

Dutch has good house manners and is able to be left alone inside by himself without being crated. Dutch will do best with another dog in the home as it helps to build his self confidence.

He would be okay living in an apartment or condo, however he definitely needs another dog in the home for companionship.  Since he is a little timid with people, he will do best in a home with another dog to take cues from.  He draws on their confidence and it helps him to feel more confident in himself.

TRANSPORT OPTIONS : Dutch is eligible for transport to points along the east coast with a rescue transporter, PETS, LLC   http://www.petsllc.net/

Also, depending on where you live, we can often help with transport within approximately 1,000 miles via volunteer drivers. There is no charge for this transport but the foster/adopter usually drives the last leg/increment of the trip.

We currently do not have transport options from TX to the NW/PNW.  Adopting parties living in these areas would be responsible for arranging for their own transport.
