Meet Lewis!  He is a very handsome 2 year old male Anatolian Shepherd x Mastiff mix (best estimate).   He is a gorgeous red fawn rough coat.  He was picked up as a stray and was not reclaimed so he ended up on doggy death row in a rural south Texas shelter. Lewis has the look of an Anatolian x Leonberger but we truly do not know his exact parentage.

Lewis is a big boy!  He is 110 pounds right now but is a little underweight. He should be around 130 pounds when he is mature.  He is very friendly with people and seems to be good with other dogs thus far.  We are still getting to know him.

Lewis loves belly rubs and is a big lovebug!  He walks well on leash and crates well at night.  He's a very sweet boy.  We have not tested him with young children.  He is so big, he could easily knock a little one over in his excitement.

This is a very loveable guy.  He would enjoy a playmate close to his own age and size. No intact male dogs, please.  He's been good with other dogs.

Lewis has not been tested with cats, livestock or children.

Needs fence at least 5 ft tall.

Transport assistance within 1000 miles may be available depending on where you live and the availability of volunteer drivers along the route.

Secure fencing with minimum height of 4 feet is required on all adoptions.

Most Anatolians are not well suited to apartment living.
