NOTE:  1/25/24  Patch is undergoing some in depth training right now.  Please check back soon for updates as he makes progress and will become available for adoption.

Meet PATCH!  This beautiful dog has had a tough start in life, having been hit by a car and even shot, but despite all the hardships, this resilient pup is now ready to find a loving and caring forever home.
Despite the trauma, this Anatolian is a true fighter and has shown incredible strength and resilience, making a remarkable recovery with the help of our dedicated team of veterinarians and caregivers. Now, it's time for this courageous dog to start a new chapter in life with a family that will love and cherish them forever.

Patch is a loving and energetic Anatolian who has a strong personality and a desire to be the dominant force. As a breed known for their protective nature and guarding instincts, it's not uncommon for Anatolians like Patch to have a strong sense of independence and a natural inclination towards leadership. However, with proper training and socialization, Patch can learn to channel his energy and assertiveness in a positive way, and become a loyal and trustworthy companion. If you have experience with strong-willed dogs and are willing to put in the time and effort to work with Patch, he can be an amazing addition to your family.

Patch also has a playful side to his personality. He absolutely loves to play chase, and would be thrilled to have a yard or space where he can run and play to his heart's content. Along with his energetic nature, Patch also has a softer side - he adores belly rubs and pets, and loves nothing more than cuddling up with his favorite humans. Just say the word & he will snuggle in bed with you!

Patch's perfect home will have a securely fenced yard for him to run and play in.  He would do well either as an only dog or paired with an easy going, non-dominant female dog who is close to his age and is medium to large sized.

Patch will do best in a home w/o children and without regular visits from children.  He hasn't been tested with cats or livestock.
He will require work on leash manners.
Patch is crate trained and does best crated when left alone.

Transport assistance within 1000 miles may be available depending on where you live and the availability of volunteer drivers along the route

Secure fencing with minimum height of 4 feet is required on all adoptions.

Most Anatolians are not well suited to apartment living.
